About me
I am only happy using vibrant colour. My inspiration comes from the beauty of gardens, flowers, rivers, and skies - abstracted into colours and patterns. I paint on multiple surfaces at once, in a free-form intuitive abstract style. I work in both ceramics and visual arts, always in bright cheery colours.
With deep connections to London and St Ives in England, and Bowen Island, British Columbia I now live in Vancouver. Raised by a creative mum, and a dad who could build or fix anything, I was equipped and encouraged to be a Maker. I studied Foundation Art at Richmond Upon Thames College in London. Two years of skill-building in drawing, printmaking, ceramics, bookbinding, and textiles set me up well for my life as an artist. Next I specialized in Graphic Design at Emily Carr in Vancouver and headed into the workforce as a designer. Later, while living on Bowen Island with my husband, raising our two kids I was able to tap into the pottery skills learned in England to create a home-based studio. I spent 20+ years selling my work to retailers and at markets all over BC’s lower mainland and Vancouver Island. Now living and working in Vancouver, creativity continues to find a way out on canvas and clay.
This website is my portfolio and also a shop. To see things I’ve made, view my Portfolio. If you want to own something, have a look at the Shop.
