Painting
I paint in acrylics primarily - on paper, canvas, wood and on pages of old books. Small and large; singles and in series. The images below show the details and works in progress as well as some finished work. The old books, found in thrift stores and library discards, have well worn pages and beautiful text and face plates that become the background of the paintings - usually removed from the books but sometimes painted right in the bound book.
Pottery
Pottery - as a full-time studio potter when I lived on Bowen Island for 21 years, I am intimately attached to clay. I miss my home-based studio and the freedom to create ceramics at all hours. I now spend very limited time in the pottery studio and have a very small selection of ceramics to sell. Watch for updates here if that changes. These pictures are some of my past and current pottery as well as some painted driftwood sticks created on camping trips in our VW Campervan “Ruby”.
Printmaking
Lino block printing and mono-prints on gel plates are an area of focus and fun for me. No two alike, I enjoy the discovery and variety of printing on paper and fabric. I have long been a greeting card maker and I am happily working on a series of greeting cards.
