Cornish Series

Cornwall - in the southwest of England - has my heart. I have been lucky to make many trips to this region over the last 40+ years - specifically St Ives. Here are some images from my Cornish Series from a June 2019 trip there and some of the local colours that inspired it. The paintings are on pages from old books about Cornwall. The turquoise sea and golden sand and harbour boats all came through in the paintings. The yellow door has a particular connection, owned by my sister, it needed repair and repainting while I was visiting her so we set to the work of fixing some damage and picking a bright yellow colour. I used some of the exterior latex she bought in every one of the paintings I made while staying in her holiday home in St Ives.
