In Market Mode

public.jpeg

My mind and efforts are focussed on getting ready for the first show of my paintings - the first market in many years for me. My thoughts return to commerce - while preserving my intention to paint for pleasure. Many years of selling pottery at some of the busiest and best markets in BC means I am not fretting over it too much. But I have enough experience at craft markets to know that it feels really good to ‘sell’ things. It is a vote of confidence and encouragement to keep going. I have to prepare with a range of items and prices and because it is my first as a painter I will use it to test the water - to understand if my work is ‘sell-able’ so I’m thinking about quantity and sizes of paintings, about how to display and price but primarily what represents the best of what I am painting at the moment.

If you are in Vancouver - come look for me at Krampusmarkt Dec 6-7-8 at Strange Fellows Brewing 1345 Clark Drive.
